The Eevee Engine render of my ship helm. I got a problem with the Cycles render, if anyone can help: the material applied to the outer wooden ring did not work well, because it was almost all white in the render, with only a few patches of the wood colour I gave them.

Welcome to this site.
Perhaps the cycles issue is the lights are too bright for it? Evee and Cycles need different settings, work in different ways.
I suggest you push on through the course more where more will be explained about the differences.
