Welcome to the first Weekly ‘Do a Tutorial Day’. As it’s the weekend, we can all find at least half an hour to do a tutorial. So I issue you a personal challenge to seek out something you don’t know how to do and watch a tutorial! Remember: Even one per week is 52 techniques by the end of the year!
Working on taking the challenge McFuzz presented and chose to watch some videos on making a city for something I am writing about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCEN0qQOsIA.
One of the interesting parts of this I discovered (some where between 6-8 minutes) was the information about setting your scale so it is 1:1:1 before UV unwrapping. Apparently, if the scale is not 1:1:1 it can effect the UV unwrap.
Yes! Applying the rotation/scale to an object is important because having it out will effect all sorts of things, like the bevel tool. Better to size things inside edit mode, rather than object mode, or remember to apply scale.
Good plan, need something constructive since theres no Saturday Kitchen on telly no more
had a watch, some interesting points about IK rigging. still well above me at present but Ive bookmarked it to go back to once i get a bit more familiar.
found this for myself
so used it as a basis to get some low poly asteroids, since im planning a redo of my asteroid 2D game with a 3D look, but still on a 2D game plane.
Interesting use of a subsurf and displacement modifier for me to tinker with.
This seemed to be the logical progress from working on Saturday’s Cityscapes to iinterior modeling for Sunday! The fun part of this is using the Archimesh add-on tool located in Blender’s User Preferences.
I think this is a great idea. This way, we can learn from each other. I wish I could have found a group of people to teach me things from the English culture and maybe give them something in return, like another tutorial. I happen to learn English right now. I’ve been having 上門補習 for around a year. But I can’t afford it anymore, and I don’t think I need it. I know the basics. I need communication with others. And I’m sure I have a lot of things to teach as well. Great idea.
