Don’t let them charge you to park unless there are some nice features in that parking garage. Sensors, lights, phones, whatever, just make sure it works and is in good working condition. Otherwise, what are you paying for, already built and paid for concrete?
This was the EEVEE render. There are so many differences between EEVEE and Cycles I still don’t know how I will decide things going forward between the two. I’ve seen some awesome EEVEE renders, and awesome Cycles renders.
Cycles did a better job with the lights in my opinion. The lights on the top of the parking garage light up the whole garage floor which I see at night on parking garages. I’ve also seen the dark spots and shadows of the lower floors because of the support braces and other cross braces that block the lights. The thing about Cycles I don’t currently like is the sample rate had to be cranked up really high and still gives static on the feedback. Something to learn about and iron out later.
I know all that, but that doesn’t really help me decide how I would want to proceed for personal projects. They will both require a certain amount of time to learn their nuances to achieve a certain look. Once I find that look in one, I know that I would have to make many changes if I wanted to achieve that look in the other. So that is what I’m getting at, which one will I want to take the time to invest more effort in, in learning its nuances. Maybe I’ll take the time to learn both and make a personal list of how to achieve certain looks. Maybe it will be something else I do. I’m hoping though that I can decide on one and learn that one really well and be happy with the process related to it.
Hmm. I think Eevee and Cycles uses the same objects (mesh, textures, images, etc.). The difference is in the way they render the scene. In this moment only lighting is a big problem. The light intensity differs greatly.
But that will be solved in the future. Also is the calculation of the shadows done differently. But overall, you can tweak Eevee on those issues. To accomplish a more accurate Cycles render llok and feel in Eevee.
All things you will learn here, are usable for Eevee and Cycles. At the end it depend what your end result should look. For 100% realistic you should go for Cycles. If speed, shadows, reflections, light influences not that important go for Eevee.
Currently I’m working on a animation. I will do that in Eevee. So the options in which Eevee doesn’t perform well, I make it less important. I win in develement time as in rendering speed.
In a final stage I could switch over to Cycles.
Your parking garage isn’t that big in polygon count (vertices). So it could be done in Cycles easily. But due to the fact your using low lights intensity. Fireflies and noise will be a problem. But if your project will grow in complexity, Eevee could be a solution for solving render times.
Most people compare Eevee with Cycles. But the are really two different render engines. So you need to tweak for both situations to get the best outcome.
