S2L19 - What I Did Wrong!

I’m just going to share my experience and if anyone has any other information to add, please do.

When I first made a wedge from S2L18, I did it a little backwards. Instead of heading straight into edit mode, I first scaled the X of my original cube, then manipulated the vertices/edges/faces. This made it a little difficult later to scale it halfway down as it changed my scale to (6.39, 1.0, 1.0) Nothing basic math couldn’t fix in the Dimensions portion of the Transform tab, but it is much easier to edit your object first so the scale stays at 1. Everyone probably already knows this but I wanted to put this here just in case someone else made the same mistake I did!

Have fun blending.

UPDATE: As user @Emmanuel_Bolduc has pointed out in their comment below, CTRL + A will bring up the Apply menu and you can reset an objects scale to 1, keeping any changes you have made to it.

I think that if you use ctrl+A and select apply scale it may put it back to scale (1, 1, 1) (Applying transform lecture 37)… but i did the same thing in this lecture and never went back to check.

Thanks, @Emmanuel_Bolduc! CTRL + A does indeed let you set an objects scale back to 1 (just tested it out on a low poly tree I made) without actually changing the size of the object. Very useful!
