Revisiting my past coursework with Freestyle render

I was just reading the patch notes about Blender 2.78 and found out about a tool in Blender called Freestyle, was intrigued and started playing with it tonight. It’s for non photo-realistic rendering with outlines. My lamp animation:

This really works for the scene! Nice.

I’ve updated the lines on the black pieces to be white, increased the width of the board outline, overlaid the oil paint texture on top of the wood texture and textured the squares with an oil paint-like texture
