I wanted to create stairs on the pyramid. So I subdivided the loop cut peace and implemented extrusion. But this is what I got - a layer of plane.
How can I eliminate this problem? Thanks in advance.
Stairs will be covered in the next lectures, (I guess you have not watched yet by the way you say you ‘wanted’ to make some). Try not to get ahead of the the lectures, it is more straight forward then. Think about doing different things after you complete the lectures for the pyramid.

You have intersecting faces.
Go into edit done and delete face.
You can also create a face. Select two edges and press ‘f’.
But follow the tips NP5 has given also.
I you want to be creative, save the creative part in a different file or version.
