Well it is really just internal structure but WHO ELSE has built into their structure.
Getting inside something is particularly hard. I found some ease by ensuring I had something to rotate around from within.

Nice. I was going to try something like that, but I got too frustrated over how difficult it was trying to maneuver inside the building. Good job for sticking it out!

I will tell you my trick to move around the inside.
Keep switching between wireframe and textured mode.
In order to rotate and move I have the USER PREFERENCE set to rotate around selected and I keep selecting FACE/EDGE/VERTEX, which allowes me to move around those sections.
I also use the Circular selection tool a lot. Left mouse to select and middle mouse to de-select.
