Pyramid Challenge: can't put the second cut on top of the other

Hi there!
I’m working at the pyramid, but I can’t progress. I made the first cut, but Blender simply does not want to put the second on top of the first. It wanders with it’s purple line, trying to divide one of the two sections in other two parts. That way the stair will not be parallel.
In the attached picture my mouse is exactly over the previous cut…

Any suggestion?
Thanks!

you should check out lesson 29. I think it’s there Micheal explains how to do it.
Anyhow what you need to do here is to put one cut in the middle, then put your second cut on top of the first one. That creates two cut even if you see only one. then you can move one (using “g”).

hope this helps

Hi Nicolas,
I eventually found a fix for this, asking in GameDev chat. Basically Blender refuses to put the second cut on top of the other and created a new one on one side. So I was worried about it being very skewed and not parallel to the other.
In chat they told me it was not a real problem, because you can select the second cut and reposition it on top of the other. this will make it parallel and then you can move it where you need it.
It worked fine

Just be sure you have the ‘merge vertices’ option turned off when you move it on top or you may be puzzled yet again! Ask me how I know!
