Turned out better then I had expected. Though learning keeps continuing. Feedback always appreciated.
Any name suggestions. Thinking either Misaki or Ayumi.
Update: Added subsurface (without gloves version.)

Looks great! I’d say the hair looks too busy, and I feel she’ll look better without the gloves. As for the name, she seems like an Ayumi to me.
Thank you. I wanted to go for a rough hair look but I could make it look sleek. I wasn’t sure about the gloves too. We have a 1 to 1 now on the name. I don’t know which one is going to win
Great character! In the close up view, the skin looks a little plastic. It only stands out because all the other textures look so great. Particularly the dress and the necklace. From a distance it fits well. But on the close up at full size it could use… something? Maybe a little texture or color variation. Subsurface scattering? It could be tricky to retain the ‘anime’ look though. From the more distant shots it looks perfect though, in my opinion. I think I like the hair. Maybe it could use a little more detail (more strands?) rather than less.
Thanks for the feedback. I get what you mean by the skin looking plastic. I can texture it a little bit more. I usually go for a stylized look so I don’t texture the skin too much. As for the clothing, I personally like to make it look realistic since most of the time, the clothing is what makes the character stand out.
I’m still learning to create better looking hair especially using curves. Glad you liked it though
Wow! Wow! Wow! She is really brilliant! How long did she take to create, and, which course did you take? I’ve been taking a character design course by Grant, for 1 year and 7 months, but I’m truly stumped when it comes to sculpting I just cannot do it write, my work looks awful, so much so that I’ve had to throw in the towel. For the last 2 weeks I’ve been studying how to make music visualisers in blender. This is going much, much better because I can key it in. Anyway, really nice job with your character, she’s great! xxx
One thing that could be added, and it’s literally a flip of a switch, is some subsurface scattering for the skin. What this does is enable some of the light to get absorbed, causing a reddish glow similar to how skin glows in the sunlight. Only a small increase in the subsurface bar is necessary.
Other than that, excellent job on the character.
Thank you very much. I’ll keep this in mind
Haha thank you. I took the creating 3d anime character and video game character creation courses. The most important thing is to keep practicing and really pay attention to the anatomy. You can find muscle references online to help you.
This took me only 3 days to finish. I already had a base mesh that I had created so that made a lot of the work easier and faster. I just had to sculpt, make the hair and clothes.
Happy to hear the music visualizer is going great for you.
This is so beautiful. I’ve only just started learning c++ but this is such good inspiration and motivation to continue. I hope to see this character in something playable someday sooo nice
Haha thank you. I’d never knew It would inspire someone. I have actually made it low poly and can even make it extra low poly with baked textures to use in a game engine. It would be nice to see it playable. I hope your c++ goes well for you!
