Problem with GPU RENDER - system shut down, or close Blender

Hi friends,
I had a problem with GPU render when I tried to rendered my Fluffy Bunny scene. There was a problem, that after I set GPU a clicked on render button, the Blender shuted down or GPU render stopped a gave me a problem message.
Maybe you had the same problem. I spent 3 hours to find a result.
This is where is a problem: TdrDelay was set in 2 seconds, it means that, for example, you playing a game and your Graphic Card is frozen, the system will reset the Pc after 2 seconds.
But when you are trying to render complicated scene is normal that this “frozen” will take more then 2 seconds. So you have to change it, but carefully.
I use my PC for 3D modeling and rendering, so I dont play games here too much.

Way to do:

  1. in Windows start up menu write: regedit.exe a open it
  2. find the way: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Graphic Drivers
  3. You have two possibility here:
    a) TdrDelay is there, so you have to RMB click on it and modify from 2 seconds to 8 or 16 if you need.
    b) TdrDelay is not here, so you have to create it. Click RMB and create “DWORD” - value. Rename it to TdrDelay a change the value like in poin a)
  4. restar you pc

CAUTION! But you have to be very careful about this registry change. If you play games and your pc is older, you have to change the value after you finnished your render work and restart your pc.
It works for me. You can try it if you want, but I do not bear any risk for possible damage :stuck_out_tongue:
