What is a portfolio? How do I make one myself?
A portfolio is a collection of games, programs, documents, assets, code, screenshots, marketing materials, or media that is grouped together in a presentable way so as to demonstrate your interests, area of focus, previous experience, and capabilities, especially in a professional context.
A game designer’s portfolio may include some design documents and screenshots. A musician may have audio files. A programmer may have downloadable programs, screenshots, and/or scripts of code.
A portfolio isn’t an official thing per se - you use things as a portfolio, such as a custom website, an online art gallery, your GitHub page, or a trusty notebook you carry around. I use my itch.io page for the time being.
A portfolio is that thing you show people when they say “Can I see some of your stuff?”
