Cool. I did the same thing before seeing yours. We may have misunderstood the objective a bit, but I don’t think so. I did need to do some manual vertex deleting and face creation to get down to 8 however, and it might be better form to divide the parallelograms into two triangles (to avoid any potential render ambiguity if any of the points were to move slightly). But there really is no need for 12 vertices.
