We are making low poly for Unity. Then why did we make the earlier version for, we might as well have done low poly pawn before rather then making 2 versions? I am not getting it, if Unity allows only 250 vertices then how do the games it helps develop look awesome. Please help me understand the logic of creating 2 versions

@a2warik I think the reason behind creating the 2 versions was to teach us how to take a model from hi poly down to low poly. Also to teach us how to bridge edge loops. :relaxed:

I guess there are some instances where game developers and animators don’t want models to be hi poly, usually because these are background models that will not be seen up close, so they want to cut down on the poly count for a smoother render. It’s important if you are modeling for games or animation to know how to do this.

That being said, there is nothing stopping you from continuing on with a hi poly chess set, like others have done. Unless your computer can’t handle it, then I guess that will be stopping you. :sweat_smile:
