OK, I found a short tutorial that talks about a built-in Blender add-on that may very well help me to create Particle Hair using Curves.
The add-on is called BTracer, and in another, longer, 1 hour tutorial, one of the options is called Particle Trace, and though the guy in the video talks about this with Emitter selected, which creates curves, but uses them to give the random particles a path to flow down.
He didn’t show how to do this with Hair instead of Emitter, so I’m going to test it out, and see if I can get it to work for me.
Sorry I haven’t been able to find the time to concentrate on creating particle hair, as I would really like to accomplish this. I found several tutorials on YouTube, each with some valuable information, but I’m still finding it hard to create particle hair from start to finish. ~sigh~
I guess one of these days I’ll get it done . . . hopefully.
Well, it looks like I’ll have to take up this project again at a later date, because I just haven’t had as much time as I’d like to spend on this lately.
I’ll just create another post when I’m finally able to get something for everyone to see.
Unless you need to use hair right now you may as well avoid the current system and just learn the new one when it is released. The video is more demonstration than tutorial.
Yes, I noticed that, but it was interesting, and looked fairly easy, so I may very well be playing in 3.3 when it comes out . . . well, certainly with the hair tools.
