This question isn’t related to the lesson but I was wondering how you get the info at the bottom that shows vert, edges, faces, etc like in the video?
Right click on the bar for context menu/info.
Just normal Blender behavior.
This changed in an update to blender.
You can right click the version number in the bottom right corner of the blender window and switch those options back on again.

Thank you FedPete and Marc_Carlyon, I would never have thought to right click that lol. I right clicked on the bottom but got nothing before. so close yet so far away lol. Thanks again!

In 2.9 you can enable the statistics in the overlays dropdown and then they appear in the top left corner instead, a bit easier to see and read.
