Notched Bishop issue

So when I render my image in Eevee or Cycles, I get the notch shape included in the render. I can’t figure out why. Attached is the rendered image, plus the settings on my notch shape (a modified cube). Any ideas why this would happen?

hidden it by pressing camera icon(render) instead of icon of eye(viewport).

Or just deleting it!
But before that, you must apply the boolean modifier!

Yes, getting the hide icons back in the 2.8 version was an essential, no idea why they had them off as the default startup. As you found, press the hide from rending visibility sorts it out. It can be found via that little funnel icon top right. Then added back beside the ‘eye’ one you have already.

Otherwise, just apply the modifier, delete the cutter works. Or keep the cutter but move it to a ‘cutters and junk’ ‘Collection’ as they call layers now. That is all hidden from rendering.
