Non planar problemos

Hi would anybody like to give me a hand here? I seem to have run into a problem.
I tried to make the crown in a different way but how ever I do it I cant seem to get rid of the non planar rim pieces.
have a look:

Most likely I will delete it all and go for a simper approach but just wondering if there is a way to rectify my issue?

Yeah, so I fixed it. I went back to the lecture and had a look.
Triangles are allway non planar so I replaced the offending faces with triangles.
Drop the inner ridge so the inside is planner.

Good work fixing your non-planar faces. It looks like the outside of your spikes are n-gons, are they giving you any trouble?
