I don’t seem to have VSM/ESM option at all? anyone has the same problem or knows where it was moved? On the left my menu, on the right how it looks in Mike’s lecture
I would assume with my reply that you are using 2.81 not 2.80 and this would be the reason for the change.

Thanks, that is indeed very helpfull. Blender is mad, before they finish updating the course to the newest version, the version already changes. I’m not sure if it’s even possible to learn to really work with this program…
What i suggest is and i do is i have previous versions as the zip files from the archive at blender.org
This way i can have the installed version i am using as default but also i can open a version say 2.79 on the desktop and it wont change the default program to open.
We will becoming back to update these issues but in this case it may be an annotation with the link provided above and when we encounter this in the gameasset section we are in 2.81 already so it wont be an issue 
Any issues please do let me know here or in the Q&A on udemy depending where you have the course as both reach me.
