Steam is going to change it’s policy to release games to Steam, doing away with Greenlight, and increasing the cost from $100 to possibly as much as $5000. Any thoughts as to how this will effect the eventual release to Steam?
Try GOG, they have a really good policy where they try out your game and if they like your game; they’ll give you suggestions on different improvements that could be made while in development. If you can get your game on GOG, you’d most likely get noticed by steam better that way rather then trying to buy our way to releasing games on Steam.
Have a marketing strategy!!! 3 months prior to release, have 3-6 trailers ready so that you can release videos fairly regularly to try hyping your game. There was also a pretty good marketing campaign presentation that was done : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkEQtMP2CuA
That’s a couple different ways to try to catch steams attention at least.
