Did you make the first two in Blender? Looks like a picture made it with Photoshop lol

No, they were all done in Blender. But i changed colour in GIMP.

Nicely done. Better than I did before taking the course 
Besides, there is absolutely nothing wrong enhancing a render in Photoshop or Gimp for your given purpose. You can use GIMP or Photoshop to create bump or normals map for your models as well, which can be quite helpful later on when using cyles. I Googled it and several tutorials for both software.
