My practice: A pear?! (And some notes)

After I had made the bowling pin (and being suuuper confused by how Spin works), I realized I had felt like it was difficult and I needed some practice, in addition to totally forgetting what I had to do to use the Bezier curves in the first place. I thought of an object that was similar to the pin so I made a pear! (I did cheat a little bit by adding material to the pear, which is the lesson directly following this one… and I also did Smooth shading instead of Flat)

And my key notes about using the Bezier curves, 'cuz I forgot:

  • Make sure that the Transform options, it’s set to Global and not Local, otherwise your bezier curve will use the Y and be wonky
  • Add a new Bezier point by selecting the end of the curve ( >>> the end of the pointy arrow) and then CTRL+Click somewhere else
  • Moving the curves affects the rest of the curve too!

As for Spin, make sure youre in Edit mode and selecting all the vertices to use the Spin tool.

I think that’s it for now.
