Hey guys, just fiddled around with my lamp, also made an actual light bulb off of blenderguru to make the light look more realistic
only issues im having is the fire flies in my renders, looked up on ways to eliminate them but still getting them regardless, havent tried 1000+samples yet.

also a question, when i do an actual full render my base is all messed up, has red diffuse and red glossy as my mix shader, in the quick render it seems fine, thought i had 2 meshes on top of one another but that is not the case, am i missing something? or got one of to much?
For the fireflies, are you using a spotlight or emission from the bulb? It seems to me that object emission creates more of them than lamp emission. Your light does seem pretty bright though, try turning the strength down and see how that turns out. Also limiting the bounces helps get rid of them. I’ve heard that it only needs 1 bounce, not 1024 of them.
That is what the base renders like when the bezier curve is still visible in the render. You have to click the little camera in order to hide it from the render. The eye will only hide it from view.
i am using a spotlight for the light itself, but the light bulb that is pictured, the filament inside is used by an emission, and okay I will try to hide the bezier curve from my renders! never really used it except for this lecture, even though I cant remember if we used it in the bowling one aswell and was told to turn it off? thanks again
