I thought that copying things from real life would give me a quick way to get going, so I modeled the lamp that I have on my desk. This stuff is getting more fun now that the materials finally belong to my little toolbox!
Yeah that weight paint stuff/skinning went totally over my head when I went to the atrocious school known as ITT tech. I figured you would probably need it for that so thats why I didn’t make mine have a flexible neck. It would go better with the way my base is designed and i thought it would animate cooler thats why I wanted to… but its prob best i follow along with the lecture considering how many things go wrong when you go your own route
Thats cool you were able to achieve it tho but does he even go into this weight painting stuff in this section? If not i should prob just follow along
I do have a cool knight chess piece that would be even cooler then the lamp to animate if not, but its unfinished:
Haha wow, that’s a lot of great detail you put into that horse
I’m not really sure about the bendy bones. I really like that idea for my lamp too, but for some reason my auto-IK settings keep not doing what I want, so I think I’ll keep it simple for now
@Steve1222 : I’ll consider writing a song about that
