Here is what I`ve done. I doubted if I could achieve more realistic design of the joint but seems that it works. Both modelling and rigging.
(1) General view. I`m not shure about kinematics of arms but looks kinda cool.
(2) Cardan joint principle.
(3) Definitely needs an electric cable to the lamholder.
(4) Should work a bit more on connection between the upper arm and the lampholder. Also some materials would definitely add to impression.
