Great set, although I think the marble is too strong?
It draws the attention away from the pieces.
Looking good. Though for me as FedPete says the squares are too hash, busy, eye attention seeking. It is a common thing with new students that have just been introduced to the power of generated textures though. They are fun to play with, see what can be done. Whereas in the end something closer to plain normal black and white probably looks better.
