Mid-Section Challange - Temples

Greetings all,

I took the skills I have learned in the course so far to make this image. That includes the use of tools like Extrude, Materials, and Vertices manipulation.

As can be seen, the second Temple (Right side) is chunky. Unfortunately, it did not play nice with shadows when I tried to shade smooth the more glaringly obvious lines. Also I notice a very interesting phantom line effect in the middle section, May be due to high sampling with Cycles?

Thank you for these courses so far, I am enjoying a refresher on a handful of things and much more since I started and abruptly stopped about 8 months ago.

I should add this is loosely inspired by architecture from the game Kenshi, as well as East Asian Temple designs. I worked this without references, but did use them “mentally” so to speak.

Effective stylish simple buildings.

Instead of having one object containing all details. Split the object into several object parts, then you can add specific details. It is no problem for Blender to work with intersecting parts.
