So I went into this completely blind, and I haven’t watched the rest of the lecture yet. I have a strong feeling I did mine differently. I did the spikes almost entirely in tris, not really liking how the quads were looking.
To compensate for this I did a bit of manual retopologizing to create my own poles and remove any trace of ngons
I am curious to know if this is actually a bad way of handling a situation in which one would choose to use tris, or if this is an appropriate measure to take?
