How are you doing your windows?

I would do 1, then when trying to add 2 (the other sections)… it wouldn’t align or corporate with me  , so I kinda did a slack job and didn’t implement them the way I wanted.

My intended result would have been this.

this is the method I was using to create my windows. As in

  • Select face, press i
  • position and scale section as needed
  • then extrude inwards

I know there’s more than one way to skin a cat with blender in this instance

If you need three windows, it is better to first slice (edge tool) the basic cube in three parts.
Then you have three faces to use the inset on.

Hi Vlad - I am afraid I did them rather basically as following the remit of the lesson I was doing. Everything is done in object mode, the window itself is just scaled cube, with the frame built up around it, again just scaled cubes.
In edit mode, I can think of a few ways it can possibly be achieved such as subdividing (w) and then extruding. Hope that helps.
