This was the first instance where it took a fair amount of time for the scene to render with those options turned on. I’m still using a super old RX480 because I never had to do anything too intensive with it when I first bought it way back when it came out, just gaming, but if it’s this bad, then I’ll definitely have to consider a replacement. I just never thought I’d be doing actual 3D art and requiring more power.
Edit: Darkened the alley material to make it more reflective in the second picture.

Nice looking renders. Yes rendering is more demanding on computing than games!

For cycles, use less samples and switch on de denoising option. And 50% render size.

Let me know of any shortcomings in some settings I’ve been trying out. I decreased my render times by decreasing the # of light bounces and playing with the different values depending on what was actually in my scene (like turning transparent to 0 when nothing is transparent).

Great job! Kudos for persistence with an older card. If you consider replacement, genuinely wish you good luck with finding parts!
