Jump Cycle

So i was hoping I could make this smoother than it turned out, but overall, i think the weight is almost there. I had a bit of trouble with the fact that to move the base of the lamp i had to effectively rotate the entire rig. Doing that then offset my arm movement which had to be countered. I found it hard to track that transition between frames and make sure i offset it back correctly.

I’ve had a little look around google for animation stuff and I see that there is a graph editor for what looks like timing your animations more accurately, and the grease pen for sketching your animation out. I can see how those would help to get it more smooth and consistent.

Still, it was super fun to do, and i’m pretty pleased with my first attempt

You can really feel the weight of the base! How exhausted this lamp must be after a few jumps

Thanks! I read that weight is the aspect that really makes a character feel real if you can get it right
