Joining vertices

For some reason, I get an error when tried to join two vertices together. The object I’m using is part of a circle mesh object, not a curve. Does this joining thing only work when vertices are on faces? If this is what it is, then I’ll just extrude and merge by last or first. If not, then W.D.I.D.? (What do I do?)

Do you have a screenshot of what you are trying to join and the error? Just to have an idea of what the issue is?

If they are on the same mesh, J (join) could be enough, though the path may not be the one you are expecting. If they are on different meshes within the same object, you can use M (merge) and one of the various options offered. If you want to “connect” them with new faces maybe the way is F (fill) in one or more steps… it depends.

I already fixed it by doing what I said before.

If you’re using J hotkey then yes it has to have faces. Just to connect to vertices then you use the hotkey F.
