Is there a better way to use, inject shadows

I really don’t think that mixing, subdividing, manipulating colors is the way to go for manipulating shadows.
This because of the (plain) surface, which also influences the mesh model texture.
How about an example where the shadow path, channel is involved?
Or something where only shadow and alpha channel is used…

I like this part of the course. Never used these functions before in Blender. Huge learning curve.

Airway for butterflies. Always handy to have them …
