Is it me tired or what a heck?!?

So, I just went through this lesson using curves to generate geometry for 6th times, and my blender does not behave as shown there in lecture… I create geometry and its all fine, however, when I try to make a mesh out of it, when I press keep the originals, my curves do not disapear…no no no, through new mesh I get to see the glimps of another object below and I am really nervous now…goint to sleep for I spent like 4 hours trying to do this silly thing…so just to keep myself from throwing pc through the window, I ll go to bed…please help me, whoever…I seem to get everything duplicated and I am following steps as an idiot :frowning: .

It’s normal, I just hid the base circle and the outline curve and it disappears. In the lessons he does the same, he hides it, otherwise you will get artifacts.

I tried but I still have doubles, plus my bottom view in edit mode did not have so many faces, I am clueless why since I done it exactly as he did…

plus when I hit keep the originals, I do not lose that image, its there as if I did that mid-step with history

I did not need to do that step either, I don’t know why, probably a version thing. Either way, don’t worry about the mesh, just try deleting the curves then, all of them except the mesh. I also fumbled a bit with that part, blender bugs a little with that I think. In the lessons the teacher seems to have troubles with the mesh at some point as well. Don’t despair, just try deleting or even starting over, perhaps there’s a curve you’ve missed or blender is bugging on you. That’s all I know though

Yes, some people don’t have to do that step others do, it just depends whether you need to keep that original curve data or not.
