Idea on how to grab

I would make a game object that the chair would be under. Then there would be a ray cast from the pawn that searches for this type of game object. This would be more efficient than putting a component under the chair because then the raycast would only just see the game object and be able to grab it, not have to look into each game object and check if it has the component. I may be wrong but this is my reasoning. To grab it, the pawn would check the distance at which the raycast sees the chair, and if it is close enough, then it would pick it up. Then when the chair is dropped on the pressure plate, then the pressure plate will check if the game object in it is one that can trigger it. Then it will open the doors. That is how I would organise it.
