I need help please!

Im getting the black bands in renderd view while in the 3d viewport and when i actually render the image.
I have tried reseting normals, adding more light, and also have made sure that my cubes were not doubled up. Any help would be great, Thanks.

[Solution]: It turns out that i did have doubles on the wall. all i needed to do was go and delete the dupes and it was fixed. Below is a new image of the fixed wall in rendered view. Big thanks to @Marc_Carlyon for being so helpful and quick to tell me how to fix it. :+1:t2::+1:t2::+1:t2::+1:t2::+1:t2:

Hi,
If its not doubles or the normals then i am not sure we can guess from the screenshot.
Can you uplaod the blend file somewhere and post the link so i can take a look. Its probably something simple but without seeing the UI its hard to tell.

Thanks in advance

Yeah no problem. Where should i upload the file to? Sorry im new to blender.

I tend to use filedropper.com as its free and you dont need an account.
I’m unfortunatly out for the rest of this evening (board game night) but i will check in tomorrow.
I wouldnt let this hold you up in the course though please do carry on with the course

Okay its no rush. Thanks for all the help so far! :+1:t2:

Hi,

I had a quick look as waiting on a lift but you do actually have doubles still.
I think as the cubes are sitting on top of one another the remove doubles option isnt working as the distance is too high.
All but one of the cubes on that bottom layer of the wall has a double and all the top layer do too.
If you right click select a cube and press x or del and delete it then a cube remains, Repeat this for all the cubes in that wall and if you get one that hasnt got a double just control and Z to put it back.

This should solve the issue when you re-render.

Will check to see if you solve it tommorow  Good luck!
