I made my own sounds

I made it to the end of section 5 and had a blast!
This was my first time animating anything, so I followed the lamp modeling pretty closely to the instructor’s lamp since there was a lot to take in with all the rigging and posing and more. I liked the animation by itself but I thought it really needed some sound effects, so I recorded some noises and added them in, I learned a lot.

Here are a couple links:

  1. Workbench render just to show what the workbench renders look like, and

  2. Final animation which was done in Cycles

One thing I struggled with was having the lamp be still. For example if I want it to look at the camera and hold that position, it would already be interpolating to the next key frame. I’m satisfied with the way it turned out, but I thought that was one aspect I didn’t have control over. Adding more key frames of the still position didn’t seem to improve it much, but I’d be happy to hear if anyone else has any ideas!

Looking forward to the next section!

This is done using the Graph Editor. Normally Blender using bezier curves, but you can changes that and other things too. I had the impression, it was explained?

You’re right, I think I should have experimented with the Graph Editor more to achieve that. I was using it a lot to control other aspects of the hops and bounces, but I probably should have spent more time testing different curves with the lamp shade. Thanks!
