Shortcuts make everything faster and more efficient. I still like knowing where the options are in the menu but having shortcuts makes things easier, it goes into muscle memory after a while so you spend more time working on how to use the technique rather than how to find it in the menus.
It’s not even about finding, moving cursor to the buttons and back is few times slower process than shortcuts, one must definitely learn them to become successful 3D artist.
I found “workflow” to be very important too, I didn’t even understood what it meant at first, but generally is they way you are doing things, 3D modelling is about managing thousands of vertices, efficiency is crucial.

You won’t have to know and use all of them 
I printed it on A3 sheet and laminated it, really sweet and handy.
