How to properly load a commit in a separate environment?

I am working through a problem in my project and want to work on it separate from git. To do this, I used the, “browse repository at this commit,” option in github and downloaded the project. When I go to build, once Unreal opens, it still has the folder structure of my main project (even though I renamed the new project with the help of this video). How can I update the content to reflect what is actually on disk?
