This is a crude model of a Gothic Architecture(Based loosely… very loosely on Westminster Abbey…).
Extruding inwards seems to give some overlapping shading issue… But since it is beginning of a greater picture , hoping to learn step by step and ignore it for now…

The best way is to follow along with the course. Because Blender has much more functions to do the things you need.
