Just finished my first game in the middle of the 2D Unity course! I’m currently near the end of the block breaker segment, so I decided to try my hand at making something original. Please, give it a look!
Just updated it with a few fixes and removed the default Unity border (side note: the default unity border looked awful. It should be minimal by default). Also turned off the game being active when unfocused (which, also, should be default)
I liked it a lot, the background is easy on the eyes, the music is calm, the visuals are nice but a couple of things:
- This is more of a nitpick, but the health icons could be changed a little bit.
- A lot of fish/stars/rocks were spawning right at the edges of the screen and they were barely visible, there were just a few pixels that gave their position away. I don’t know if this is by design, but this could be frustrating for some players.
Good job : )
Thanks for the kind words
The food spawning on the far edges was something I noticed but forgot to change. Whoops! I might update it later.
I was considering making a bigger health bar but I feared it’d be too annoying and would cover incoming things, so I opted for a very slim HP bar. Do you have any suggestions on how to improve it? Thanks!
Well I wouldn’t change its size, but their material, it just doesn’t feel right.
Maybe 3 small hearts instead of the bars?
