Hello guys, how are you?
So, this weekend happened the Global Game Jam, which was the first Jam that I’ve ever participated. I’ve worked a lot in this weekend, slept less than 4 hours/day and barely stopped to eat, but it was a VERY GOOD experience, and I recommend for everyone that is doing this course, I’ve learned a lot.
First of all, it turns out that I have managed to keep up with experienced jammers on my site because of the courses that I’ve been doing here. I wasn’t expecting that, it felt very good and rewarding, the knowledge that you get from doing both the blender and unity courses (in my case) is impressive, so take it seriously!!
This year theme was Waves and I joined a team of other 2 ppl (even though I’ve listed 5 people in this project within the Jam website, 2 of those just helped at the first hour when we were developing the idea, they had another project to work on).
And the idea that showed up was to do a game where the player have to reach the Goddess Iemanjá while jumping over a few waves in order to offer her a present in order to stop the waves. We have managed to finish it at the last second, of course that it have a lot to improve and bugs to fix, but the result was OK imo.
I’ve made all the programming, modeled the main character, animated it and designed the game while another person done the remaining 3d models and a third one made the sounds (using a guitar!!
), all the source code is available at the Jam site, the unity project folder is within the SRC in the zip file. Although I’ve deleted the library to make the zip as light as possible, but if someone wants to try it you can add the unity library and the project should be OK to go (I’ve not tested it yet though).

Please feel free to leave a feedback here or at the itch.io site, it is very important to me!
Also, let me know if you want to ask something regarding the code or the development, thanks guys!!
Best regards,
Johnny Dalvi!
