Hello,
I am having an issue with my rabbits fur. It shows I have fur on the rabbit in object mode, but when I render it, it renders without hair. See screen shots below.
Are you out of particle edit mode and back into object mode before you render?
and looks like you gave the hair material to rabbit itself. You need to create the fur material without a user and then apply it to the hair in particle menu.
If I don’t apply it to the rabbit itself, then I can’t add it to the hair particle system. It does not give me that option.
All the materials used on the rabbit should be added in the rabbit mesh. Fe. add 2 materials to the rabbit itself. First for the skin and then for the fur. Now it should be in particles.
I am confused. Above you said that it looked like I added the material to the rabbit itself. Stating that I was supposed to create it with a fake user first then apply it to the particle system. Now you are saying to add it to the rabbit itself.
Don’t mind the fake user thing, I was trying to explain in a very absurd way. That’s just my bad.
Rendering without hair must be simple. Either you are not in object mode or camera-eye visibility buttons are turned off somewhere.
I hope I got it covered this time
Ahhh, yes the screen shot helped a lot. You called your rabbit object “RabbitMesh”. As for the fur not rendering, I have checked the camera-eye visibility. That all seems good, and I made sure I am in object mode. Still will not render the fur. I even deleted all materials and particle systems and still won’t render the fur. I am completely at a loss here, but I have not given up. I will figure it out eventually.
I found out the with the rendering. I believe it was a possible bug. I switched back to weight paint and made sure that my vertex groups were correct, then moved into particle edit and made sure the fur was styled the way I wanted it. I did not have to make any changes in either of the modes. Went back to Object mode and rendered it. This time all the fur rendered. Either I was not in object mode (But I did check this over and over), or something weird happened. Either way it seems to be working now.
