[FIXED] S02_edge loop. I can't create an extra loop on top of another one

I am currently working on Section 2, Lecture 28.
In the lesson, the teacher creates a 1st edge loop on the middle of his object.
Then, at 5:11, he creates another edge loop and put it at the same position than the 1st loop.
Then, he moves the second one to the right and we clearly see that he has created 2 edge loops.

I tried to reproduce that. So I created a 1st loop, that I positioned in the middle of the object by hitting the 0 key.
Then I created the 2nd one, and moved it straight to the 1st loop. My problem, is when I try to move it to the right, instead of seeing 2 edge loops, I only see one, like if the 2nd loop had not been created.

Did I miss something?

If you review the video from the 6 minute mark it talks about proportional editing. If it is on, then you won’t get the second cut. Make sure proportional editing is turned off. I didn’t turn it off when I went through this part, so I had the same problem.

Thank you very much!
This fixed the pb.

Thanks everyone! I turned it on one step too soon, too. :stuck_out_tongue:
