Music, of course, is a really good way to encourage me to get started. One of the primary things that I find the most helpful to get into flow is to do as was stated in the video. I have to actually start. Quite often I get distracted by the many different thing on my Desktop that boot up, but if I just get started and keep the goal for that session in mind, I am able to actually get it done.
I know what you mean! I find that the hardest thing for me is to stop thinking about the other things I could be doing with my time and just start working on something. One way to combat this, that I found helped, was scheduling a “Project” night with some friends. That way it wasn’t something I felt I could just bail on if I wasn’t “feeling up for it”, my friends could keep me accountable while working, and it was a way to get constructive feedback during my process instead of after I finished it.
