Final Chess Renders with HDRI and PBR Materials

It’s crazy how a few free image textures and a HDRI can push the scene towards ‘almost’ realism!

It’s so true. I think you need to fiddle the light settings a bit. here and there too bright.
Maybe in Photoshop auto brightness?

I think Pete is right - a little more sharpness would really highlight the beauty of the chess pieces.

Yeah, I really struggled with the point lights fighting with the HDRI, I’ll need to look into the settings and maybe play around with different lights instead of just the point light. I wanna avoid using any photoshop skills for anything that could be fixed in Blender but thanks for the suggestion! :slight_smile:

You can do this also in the Blender post processing …

Yes colours to materials is a big jump in realism. Very nice looking set and scene there. Real marble is so much better than proceedural.
