Final Challenge-Wood house

Hello
I used eevee. Suggestions are welcome, especially about lighting!

Very nice. Great background and all. Only suggestion is I think the upper frame on the porch is a bit much. Necessary for main structure but overkill on just holding up a small roof over a few feet of porch, kinda makes it look cluttered. I am nit picking though. Better than what I can pull off.

Your composition is beautiful. But indeed lighting is a bit strange. At night there is only one light source, the moon. But then the scene gets too dark. And the moon shines only at the back of the house.

Then you need to crank up the overall lighting. You did that by adding more light points. That is a solution, like placing torches, camp fires or a lamp post (destroys the scene).

An other solution is to use environment lighting (you will learn that).

And of course, the basic Eevee materials are too shiny (grass floor) and lights give sharp shadows. You need to master that problem. Depending on what you want to do with a project like this. You can switch over to Cycles but than render times will increase.

Good work, love to see more.

I see your point. Thanks!

I will come back to this and try to fix it. I hope to learn more as the course continues. Thanks for the feedback!

I like the work you’ve done but I see some things that could use minor improvements.

Maybe add some porch skirting around the whole house, or just close the space below the house completely. Thicken up the porch floor if it is still visible.

I would like to see the window and door openings have the same height up top. Adding a rectangular frame around the doors and windows would help out a lot too.

Maybe bring a tree to take up more of the foreground on the left side of the image. Or you could just crop off left half of image.

The reflection off the grass looks kinda strange but I’m not sure how to improve that.

Nice detailing on the roof.

I hope to see some more work. Good job.

Thank you for the feedback!
