Extra Models - A pair of Headphones and a Chair

Hi guys, I have tried to create the two models shared below:

Headphones (took more than 2 hours):
The render has some problems. Notice the issues in the soft pad. Unfortunately, I’m unable to fix this. Do let me know if someone can help out

Chair (took more than 1 hour):
I’m satisfied with this actually. Do let me know what you guys think?

You have your normals reversed there. You will be learning about that very shortly! If you go into edit mode (hit tab). Then open up the transform panel (N on the keyboard while over your 3d area.) Scroll down (almost all the way to the bottom) until you see where it says NORMALS Right under that you will see the Vertex, Vertex Per Face and Face. Click the face one. Then just to the right of that you can increase the size of the hairs. Make them a little longer. You should have all of the hairs growing outwards, not inwards. To fix that you can leave everything selected, Click on Mesh > Normals > Recalulate Outside. Or Control + N. Let me know if that fixes it!

Hi John,

Thanks for the help. I usually perform “Remove Doubles” and “Re-Calculate Normals outside” mostly to make sure everything is in place. I tried your method with same result:

Thanks for the suggestion

It looks like you have some double faces/vertices there. My suggestion is to remove and re-create that part of the geometry. If that’s not the issue, then it must be some lighting/shadow issue. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
