I’m confused abt the part where the instructor says you have to make sure the ‘Use Nodes’ option has to be activated and turned blue. On my version of Blender, when I do that, the material function does NOT work. I have to unselect this instead. I’m confused.

The material will only show in Viewport shading view, or rendered view.
It is not a change with 2.92 as I have that too and it is still the case.
