I thought this was quite a fun way to play with some of the tools. Mine didn’t turn out perfect but at least it helped me familiarise myself with some of the things blender can do!

First of all - well done!
Secondly - don’t you tell yourself that your work is not perfect. Sure, in the future, if you’ll be working on something really big and you want to push yourself to get it done better, then yes, you can tell yourself it is not “perfect” yet to keep yourself going. Even tho seeing something as “perfect” varies from person to person.
But for the beginning of your journey - this - is what you need. Building anything you can imagine, the way you want! This way, just like you said, you play with the tools around and get used to them.
Just hang in there, don’t give up and keep sharing your work!
