Compressing Sprite Sheets by slicing automatically


Wouldn’t it save more space by simply slicing the sprite sheets with the automatic function? Unity then automatically rejects the empty space.

Or am I missing something?

Or probably this is answered later on on the videos - which happens a lot :slight_smile:

That’s a good point! In fact I wondered why we didn’t do that from the start instead of manually calculating the size of each frame.

Edit: OK I just tried that with the Appearing sprite sheet. It separates the lizard and the hole he jumps out of in to two separate images, and sometimes doesn’t include the hole at all. So I suppose doing it manually ensures you get the entire image of the frame.
